Bandarban: Bandarban is a district in southeastern Bangladesh,cordinates in 22.20n 92.35F and a part of the Chattagram division and Chattagram hill tracts. The is Bandarban is 4479 km,population is 3,00,740(2001).literacy 41.6%.Bandarban hill district is  the most remote and least populated district in Bangladesh.Bandarban is meaning of the dam of monkeys or marma /Araknese language as “ Rawa daw Mro " is also known as Arvumi or the Bohmong circle.Bandarban town is the home town of the Bohmong chief ( current king) . The lure of the tallest peaks of the Bangladesh,treats trough virgin forest and chance to meet more then 15 tribes of the region up close is growing both among Bangladesh and tourist from other countries.Bandarban is not only a remotest district of the country but also is the least populated, The three highest peaks of Bangladesh.They are-Tahjindong (1280meters, also known as bijoy)
Moudok mual(1052km)
Keokradong(1230km) are located Bandarban district as well as the Raikhiang lay,the highest lake in Bandorban.Chimbuk peak and Boga lake are two more highly noted features of the district.Saka Haphony(3488) is newly highest peak of Bangladesh.This is also here in Thanchi upazilla.Many people stay in this district but Majority are Marma.There is a tribute culture here, which features a library and a museum. There is also hospital,District public library,A museum,Bandarban government college,The district stadium, Banashri, The royal cemetery and theatre and of course the Royal palace( Two of them since the 11th and 13th royal lines both claim the throne)Apart from the numerous kyangs and mosques,there is a Tample dedicated to kali, the most revered Goddess of Hindus in Bangladesh , as well as a center maintained by ISKON. You can go there by bus, by car and also use jeep.
Bandarban has only one town that approaches anything near a city-The Bandarban town.The rest of the area is divided into 7 upozillas ,which are in turn divided into varying numbers of unions. Each union is a cluster of paras and villages,
